We use a two layer approach: Syntactic + Semantic Adaptation

Reuse syntactic layers (Transcoding)

• For devices using the same language.

Add additional semantic layer for:

• Simplifying author’s work.
• Improved usability.

Semantic annotations for Web applications:

• Application level hints for transcoder & renderer.

New device supported by just adding a new renderer and/or transcoder:

• Device class dependent parts are reused!
